Ho Hum - Shox Win Another - Now 12-0

Even though Jeremy Ingram went off for a career-high 37 points, the Shox beat North Carolina Central 77 - 66. NCC beat NC State at NC State earlier this year, so they're not a bottom-feeder no-name team.

Shox have been a second-half team. This time that was reversed, as the 16 point lead at the half was not maintained.

By the time Valley play rolls around, you might think Marshall found a way to keep Carl Hall on the roster. Darius Carter got the start and had 19 points on 6/9 from the field. Early got another double/double with 16 and 10. Baker got into double-digit scoring for the first time since he sprained his ankle with 15 points. VanVleet chipped in 14, 8 assists, and 6 boards. He did have a TO, so only an 8:1 A/TO ration for this game.

Good to hear someone stepping up in the front court. That is the key yo the valley receiving multiple tourney units again IMO.

All Marshall needs to do now is sprinkle some of that magic dust on Nick Wiggins and the Shox will have a shot at 8th place.

Yep. He has a nice 5 game trend going where he has tied or outperformed his average. He's looking like a go to and his average has increased from 4 points and 3 boards to 8 and 5 recently.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but it is possible that none of the 12 teams the Shox have beaten will even make the NCAA tournament. There have been times where WSU hasn't looked like a Top 25 team let alone a Top 10 team wanting to make a Final 4.

True, true, true.

They also won all 12 of those games. There have also been times where WSU has looked like a Top 3 team that could beat anyone in the nation.

The good with the bad.

I think St. Louis and BYU will. I think North Carolina Central will probably get the auto bid from the MEAC as well. WSU has won 9 out of their 12 games by double digits and really hasn't been challenged in the last couple of minutes of games yet except maybe Alabama

Agree the schedule has been Charmin soft. St. Lou is a nice win but after that nothing to write home about. Way is offensively challenged in the front court and has little guard depth. Baker, cotton, early, and fvv will carry this team a long way but I worry about them against the elite teams come tourney time.

While I don't think anyone is "writing home" about the schedule, I certainly wouldn't call it "Charmin soft." A SOS of 52 compares favorably to the rest of the Top 10, the rest of the unbeatens, and really isn't even comparable to the average Valley SOS (177!).

Your other two points are valid and are the answers WSU is trying to come up with.

I know one thing WSU didn't struggle to hang on against a terrible and I mean terrible Depaul team at home yesterday. WSU didn't lose by 18 to the bilikens.

I see this depth talked about. I'm sorry which valley school has 4-5 guards that are of high quality? Actually which top tier teams have 3 guards like VV, Baker, Cotton then bring 2 more off the bench that are of same quality? It's overblown

12-0, 3 true road wins, 2 neutral. I don't care what you think of the schedule or depth. There isn't another Valley school who would be 12-0 with same schedule nor is there one with greAter depth at guard position. So please stfu, like some WSU posters who r over the top jerks on this board some other teams posters are too much to handle as well.

Yes WSU will slip up and lose a few in the valley this yeAr but it's also become apparent over the course of the season so far that they are head and shoulders above the other teams this year. Funny at the start of the season I wouldn't have said that.

Watch 12 games of any team this year and tell me they didn't experience good and bad moments. That crap I read on this board is too funny
