We're going to get started today posting what the Arch Madness seeds would look like if the season ended today. The first probabilities chart will be posted Feb 16-17. Thanks again to our trusty statistician, Hacksaw, for what has become one of the most popular features of The MVC Report.

I like how Loyola has the fourth highest average margin of victory in the conference.

Granted, most of that is because they're one of the only teams to not play WSU yet (and IlSt has played both of their games against us), but still looks odd with them in 10th.

Similarly, Evansville's margin of victory (margin of loss?) looks more ridiculous when they're already by far the worst in the conference without playing WSU yet.

I'm rooting for the Ramblers and I think they avoid Thursday, even though...

Being blown out by Drake, Indiana State, and UNI will do that to you.

Just noticed on the standings linked to above, only 2 MVC teams rank in the Top 150 of non-conference SOS: UNI 31, WSU 61. This needs to be addressed by the commissioner again asap.

I think we're more likely to see a league-race handicap system developed where teams are given help in the standings because they didn't face enough quality competition in the non-conference to prepare them for league play.

Yes, Doug please make the big boys come play home and homes w/ us.

Bring back the Challenge vs a conf equal to or better than the MVC.

Gotta get in a good preseason tourney and get on the winners bracket side.

Your opponents play you cant control.

I guess its just a lot harder than you make it seem.

Geno has taken a lot of heat for the cupcakes on our sched this year but shoot we got beat by a few of them.

It wasn't that long ago that the Valley had a process in place to penalize teams that scheduled weakly in the OOC and it resulted in our league getting multiple bids in the NCAA tournament. Re-instituting something similar needs to be discussed in my opinion.

Agreed that the policy of penalizing teams for playing cupcake city should be brought back.
