WSU Prime Seat Ticket Prices

Postby Aargh » November 10th, 2014, 9:46 pm

Some blocks of 4 seats in prime seating areas became available this year. The contribution required to buy a block of 4 seats ranged from $50,000 to $100,000. The Athletic Department raised $280,000 this fall selling the rights to buy those unrenewed season tickets.

The plus side for WSU is that the money keeps flowing. The down side is that a lot of fans are absolutely and totally priced out of the arena. If you and your friends are able to attend your school's games, please go and enjoy what you see. Paying $20 for a ticket to a WSU game isn't an option.

I hate the school and team, but you have a loyal fan base that sells out every game and makes it one of the best environments in college bball. I wish Redbird sold out every game. they did...

3game pack (VCU, Bradley, and WSU) for $33

Since I live out of town, season tickets aren't really an option. I was able to get tickets to the "neutral" game against St Louis at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita. $29 per seat to sit in the upper deck. Prior to selling out every game in Wichita, the top row cost $25 per ticket.

seems like a bargain compared to other things you could do besides sitting at home. Of course if you do sit at home - almost every game (if not all) is televised.

Every game is televised, including the exhibition. Most of them will be nationally televised.

That is a considerable chunk of change. The pricest seats in JQH are 5k or 20k for the 4 seat block. Obviously we don't have the demand that Wichita does. If MSU could sell some 100k tickets maybe we could quit selling cattle to make up the difference in our budget" :?

I would never have guessed that something associated with the Koch name would start catering to only the elite and force the average person out. :D

Seriously though, every team would like that sort of atmosphere. Its just sort of sad that good sporting events across he United States have forced the average family out of the equation. I know my view is different from many here but I have never understood the need or want to donate to your alma mater. If I was worth 100 million, I wouldn't give mine a dime. They already got my money when I went there.

I agree with this 100% - including the opening joke. The joke is funny because it's something so incredibly obvious that people don't see it until it's pointed out to them.

Good points past the joke as well. I don't want to disparage anyone for spending that kind of money, because they might be the biggest WSU fans ever, but I doubt they're going to be standing and yelling and making a lot of noise, which is the atmosphere that has made WSU a tough place to play.
