5 seed? Really?

For an organization that has them ranked 9 (or the lowest 3 seed possible) in their 25 and 1, and that's a 5 seed? :bs:

Annoyance aside, UNI seems the wildcard here (2-5 IMO). I think they stay top half in any case, I think #3 might be a little generous without seeing them play, given how much Tuttle was to them last year. I think they may well end up #2. ISUred seems a little shaky, due to their graduations and transfers. Evansville is probably about right, unless they learn a new trick, which given the history is unlikely. I think Loyola is likely to do better than Evansville, assuming they stay healthy.

Then again, it's months away. Only thing I think for sure is that WSU is going to win the regular season. St. Louis... maybe. (There had better not be a regional there. Otherwise, we might win the valley tournament, and still lose the last game we play in St. Louis. We may just be good enough to break that once and for all though!)

Last year, Aces on the message board complained Marty needs to be fired because he couldn't win with his talent. Now he should be considered for coach of the year???

Just a little tongue in cheek on my part. I'm not an E-ville fan, but I do actually think Marty is a fine coach. To me picking a coach of the year preseason is kinda silly because it's often decided on how the team performs versus preseason expectations. Heck, if Bradley avoids Thursday night in The Lou Wardle could be national coach of the year! (once again...not being serious).

The team that finishes second this year will have the COY. Book it!

What if that team is WSU?

Mark Adams (EnthusiAdams / Facebook) is going to put out his Valley preview on Facebook tomorrow (10/25). He has been the commentator on several FSMidwest Valley games in recent years. I think his outlook will be much more accurate than the national publications.

He's gone on record predicting the Shockers as National Champions this year.

I think WSU should be considered 1 of 8-10 teams that have a good shot of winning it all. Their biggest competition might be the NCAA selection committee (seeding, matchups, game locations, etc.). It's no secret, the NCAA wants the final four teams to be from the 'Big 5' conferences.
When the Valley season is over, I'll be pulling for all of the Valley teams!
