Total Lulz that this board is going to pick UNI 7th. It's some kind of fear and/or jealousy.

Best recruit coming into the Valley in over a decade, but he's a white kid from Iowa not some big city so he can't be as good as advertised. Virginia, Iowa State, Clemson, Minnesota and everybody else were all wrong.

Tywhon Pickford led the nation in rebounding by a guard

Isaiah Brown held Custer and Taylor to 4 points TOTAL in two games last year and became that long wing defender that always makes Jake's teams go.

Trae Berhow was 10 & 6 and on the WCC All Freshman team last year. Illinois State gets a transfer like that and all we do is talk about their talent.

The best coach in the league still works in Cedar Falls.

The black holes that were Bennett Koch and Klint Carlson are long gone.

This is the 08-09 UNI team again. Takes a massive step forward before being incredibly good the year after but, hey, vote UNI 7th.

You are counting on not losing the first four or five games this year.

I don't think it has anything to do with fear/jealousy. It is just a reflection that last year's top 4 teams are all back and will be just as good or better. I think UNI is clearly better than ISUb and right there with Valpo in that tier right behind the top 4. But could easily see Valpo or UNI getting a few wins against the top tier.

Yeah....I have no idea what fear and/or jealousy have to do with a preseason vote on a message board.

Are the voters really sitting there thinking "I'm afraid/jealous of Northern Iowa so I'll vote for them to finish 7th because that will make it so"?

Can’t blame voters for picking a reigning 9-seed 7th. Have a problem with it, print it out and hand it to Ben to hang in the locker room.

I vacillated back and forth between fear and jealousy but ultimately decided to cast my vote out of fear.
