We have to play home games and paying 10 times what we pay the non-DIs for a metrics killer that is DI in name only seems like a terrible decision.

If I'm choosing between Grambling and Truman State, give me Truman State.

Actually according to this article (which admittedly makes a lot of excuses with respect to scheduling) non-D1s are now actively discouraged by the committee. If the MVC wants multiple bids they'd better take notice of this.

Clearly the goal of the NCAA is to get mid majors out of the tournament and get 90% of the teams form six conferences in the tournament. I do not think it is possible to schedule yourself into a tournament bid unless you play all of your non-conference games on the road against teams from those six conferences and win all of them. The NET results clearly show how it was designed to allegedly be an objective ranking, but in reality lowers the ranking of mid major teams to make sure they don't have to be selected for the tournament. Drake is 30 in RPI, 100 in NET. Indiana State is 41 in RPI, 112 in NET. Citadel is 38 in RPI and 111 in NET.
