Missouri State at Southern Illinois

Valpo at Missouri State
Bradley at Indiana State
Loyola at Drake
Evansville at Illinois State
Southern Illinois at UNI

January 2nd

Illinois State at Valpo - Illinois State, even though they're playing poorly, they have enough to win at Valpo
Drake at Evansville - Drake, Norton and the Iowa transfer are too much for Evansville
UNI at Bradley - Bradley, UNI is reeling and will get off to a rough start in Peoria
Missouri State at Southern Illinois - SIU, only because they're at home
Indiana State at Loyola - tough call, but INS won at Loyola last season, so I'll take the Sycamores again

January 5th

Valpo at Missouri State - Missouri State wins at home
Bradley at Indiana State - Sycamores easily handle BU in the home MVC opener
Loyola at Drake - Drake - at home, Drake sends Loyola to an 0-2 MVC start
Evansville at Illinois State - ILS because they're at home
Southern Illinois at UNI - SIU, again, UNI is struggling, so give the edge to SIU

January 2nd

Illinois State at Valpo = Valpo plays hard at home. Fans add vocal power to bring home a win.
Drake at Evansville = Drake has a lot of 3pt fire power and good inside game.
UNI at Bradley = Bradley - Too fast - Rebounding
Missouri State at Southern Illinois = Southern Ill U - Lloyd, Pippen , Fletcher too much.
Indiana State at Loyola = Indiana State - Barnes, Barnes and Barnes.

January 5th

Valpo at Missouri State = Valpo - After a win at home will start to get things going.
Bradley at Indiana State = Indiana State, again Barnes too much. Pretty good rebounders.

Loyola at Drake = Drake - Too much scoring and Bulldogs shoot well at home. The Murphy Brothers, 2 Drake bigs will wear Loyola down.

Evansville at Illinois State = Evansville's new Coach pulls the upset with good defense.
Southern Illinois at UNI = Southern Ill U balanced attack too much for the Panthers

People remember how difficult it is to win on the road in conference play! In a year where there are no clear favorites I'd ride the home team 90% of the time!

First time making picks this season, but I figured this would be a good time to join if I was going to since this is when the conference season starts.

Jan 2
ILST - because Valpo is worse than ILST
Drake - because Drake is the better team
Bradley - because it's in Peoria and UNI is terrible
SIU - because SIU is the better team
Loyola - because it's at Loyola

Jan 5
MSU - because Valpo is awful
INST - because Bradley can't even beat Eastern Illinois
Drake - because it's at Drake
Evansville - because UE plays hard and ILST has a bunch of selfish thugs on the team
SIU - because SIU is the better team

In all seriousness, the league is not good this year and I think everyone's goal is going to be staying out of Thursday to give themselves a chance, because literally anyone could win it in St Louis this year. There isn't any team that is head and shoulders above another, at least not yet. I feel like Drake, Loyola, and Indiana State might be the best three teams right now, but that opinion could change.
