This is an active rumor in Carbondale. He resigns after elimination in STL in exchange for a lower buyout. Saves face for the carnival barker. Then he returns to Oklahoma to seek office.

I think there is some merit to it. He has talked openly about it in the past and he is done in Carbondale anyway.

His daughter is a teacher in OK and he makes speaking appearances there.
