Drake Fans

How did we end up with the Drake fans on here that think they are now Duke? I am a Bradley fan and have had pretty positive interactions with Drake fans. Drake had a great year and were the best team in the conference the majority of the year. But that does not guarantee you are the next Wichita State.

It usually takes a long time for fans to get so egotistical about their program. Telling other teams that you are going to be the dominant team for years to come shows you have a lot to learn.

Bradley hasn't had a huge one year turnaround. But a couple times I was really optimistic we could compete for the title the next year only to follow up with a off year. (Geno Ford).

The couple Drake fans may want to dial it back a little. It was an unlucky break with the injuries. But you do not have "Valley favorite every year" Locked up. That is the vibe I am getting.

Seriously. It was one guy. I don't speak for everyone. I probably shouldn't have posted when I did. I'm just emotional and kind of tipsy. Just really proud of my guys.

I count 3 posters who have been obnoxious tonight, not one, but one of them may or may not be a Drake fan. But I suppose we can all chalk it up to being hot. You'd think in a season like this that EVERY Valley fan has been humbled here and there, but apparently some fans of a traditionally marginal program feel compelled to strut like peacocks after one atypical showing. I was thinking earlier today how fun it would be to see a BU/DU final when the two teams have so often met on Thursday, but some of the comments on this board make me glad it's UNI instead.

Yea definitely more than 1, but a few fans on a forum do not represent a fan base. That's the internet and social media in a nutshell. The crazies are far more likely to post after a tough loss.

Drake fans should be excited and it's good for the valley if they find success, but 1 season is a really lowsy sample size for how good a new coach is. Objectively speaking, this was a down year for the valley and they really didn't stand out from the pack, and their OOC was very soft. I'm pulling for them, but there's more work to be done

I'll be curious if there's a bit of a reset for drake losing McGlynn and their grad transfers. Not that they'll be bad, there will just be a lot more development with a younger roster overall.

Obviously a couple posters do not represent a fanbase. Also, I think when you lose three players for the season, including your two best players, the "what-ifs" and unfairness of it all sets in hard. Very hard not to think of different scenarios

I will admit I probably should have said a few Drake fans. But, it isn't just last nights post. So I still stand by the general tone of my post. It does not represent the whole fanbase.
