Loyola Injuries

Probably too late to change my preseason pick of Loyola, but it seems they may be headed for one of those years where injuries take their toll. With Kaifes already out for the season, now comes word that backup post player Agunannes and starting pg juco transfer Cleamons will both miss between 4-6 weeks with injuries. While both project to be available by conference season, still major dings to absorb early in the season.

Why can't you change your pick in light of new information? Or even if you just change your mind?

Because it’s Declaration Day. You can’t unsign your Declaration!

Of the 56 signers, five were captured by the British and tortured before they died while twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Well of course I can; my point being that injuries always happen and some teams just get hit hard and have their years altered as a result. That's why preseason predictions can be so difficult sometimes, but also why I don't get too caught up in them. Make your best guess and then let the season play out with all the injuries, defections, surprise players, and nuances part of the fun of the journey. In the end it's wins and losses , and everything else are just details.

Injuries suck. Word after the open practice was Agunanne made a leap on both sides of the ball. Glad they're shorter term though, should be back around the midseason tournaments
