MVC Week 3 Discussion

Postby PantherSigEp » January 14th, 2020, 10:00 pm

We'll leave the picks to the other thread.

Feel free to continue to denigrate ISUr in this thread. It makes me feel slightly better about that nightmarish meltdown in Normal.

Interested in seeing how MSU responds tomorrow against Bradley.

Bradley - UNI on Saturday should be a fun, intense game. Eqqq
[Insert snappy comeback]

Nothing like scheduling the Arch Madness championship game teams twice in a two week span

Wow! Two consensus top 5 teams finishing up their home and homes just 6 games in with 12 to go does seem like a major and avoidable mistake. Maybe they should treat it as a secret scrimmage and air the game 6 weeks from now?

While I think that UNI and Bradley are the two best teams in this conference I think there are a few teams that will have a thing or two to say about the conference race before it's over. I love the meat grinder that is this conference. It's a war out there every game and it's fantastic. Every game just means more here in the MVC.

I hate that ESPN has so much say over how that schedule falls.

Just a quirky year. We're done with Bradley and Missouri State before the end of January but don't see Drake at all until February 8th. Oh well, you can only play then when they're scheduled.

Surprised to see Missouri State as slight favorites tonight against Bradley after their dismal performance over the weekend. Home court really means a lot.

Loyola has a very backloaded schedule. Of their last 9 games, the Ramblers play Bradley twice, @ISUb,vs UNI, @MSU and vs Drake . Meaning we are hoping to stack up as many wins as possible in the first half of the season and chaos among the other teams (MSU beating Bradley and then Bradley beating UNI this weekend would be a good start...).

Still think UNI is the clear favorite but certainly won't be a cakewalk like some Wichita seasons of the past.

Bradley has only won 1 true road game this year so far, at Evansville last week when Evansville did not have Williams. I'm surprised so many people are picking Bradley to win this game, especially without Childs.

Bradley is the exact opposite of this as I was just looking at the schedule, as of now, I see Bradley being favored (or basically a pick'em) in their last 7 games in the Valley, especially if Childs is back. I expect them to always be favored at home, but last 3 road games are @SIU, @ISUr, and @Valpo. If Bradley can stay above .500 without Childs, then they will be a top 3 or 4 seed in St. Louis.

He’ll be riding in on a motorcycle at halftime with a young blond.
