A player I think being overlooked in the FOY/All Freshman teams is Lance Jones of SIU. Not just because he went for 28 against the Bears, but I watched a lot of games this year and he has the physical makeup and demeanor to be a huge factor in the way Mullins and SIU will want to play moving forward. He is quick, strong
[ especially for a frosh], relentless, and doesn't shy away from the moment. He has to improve his judgement at times and get more consistent with his shot, but he's a handful going to the basket.

I see he and Kennedy as the two most physically imposing freshman guards in the conference. On a side note, while they didn't play enough or have the consistency to challenge for awards, I'm pretty happy with how Black and Mosley developed this year for the Bears. Black was forced to play point and while not flashy, was pretty steady down the stretch and really picked up his shooting closing at over 40% from the trey line. Mosley had to play behind a number of veterans at the wing, and at times seemed unsure of how aggressive to be ; but he's a scorer and next year sans Cook and West will be looked to be a nightly scorer for the Bears and I think will be more efficient and consistent than either of those two. Black, Mosley, Prim, and Hall will form the core for the Bears with a hoped for return of a healthy Ridder, who knows with Tyrik Dixon, and then we will be aggressive in adding a couple pieces this spring/summer.
The Bear is the largest carnivore on the North American continent; beware the Bear!

Yes! Domask and Jones gives Mullins 2 VERY solid building blocks.
I would take Jones over any Frosh listed except Domask and Clay.

Clay and Laravia have ceilings that the siu players don't. Lance will be the next darell brown if he is lucky. Those 2 have nba type ceilings.

Jones spent too much time learning a new position to probably get into All Freshman, but he was SIU's best player down the stretch. He'll probably move back to playing more off-ball next year with Cook back.
