Tremendous honor. We have had two honorable mentions in the interim, but the most recent Rambler named to an AP team had been Alfredrick Hughes in 1985.

That's a blast from the past. What a great player and a great Loyola team. Had 37 at Roberts Stadium vs the Aces. I could not stand him.

LOL....I remember in Hughes' freshman season, he shot so much...and so poorly, that the fans had signs that said "Save Loyola basketball, Shoot Alfredrick Hughes"

Krutwig was also named a Third-Team All-American. Pretty amazing to be considered a top 15 player in the country. Congrats, Cam. After the NCAA Tournament, I hope to never see you play another college basketball game. You've dominated this league for 20 years.

Well deserved honors for Krutwig. He's a special player and one of the most dominant post players in MVC history.

Any chance he and Williamson choose to use the extra year and run it back next year? Or does that depend on how this year goes?

There's a chance but as fans have said all year it's probably unlikely. The team is loaded with younger talent that just couldn't see the court. Look at what Hutson did in STL with his first major minutes all year...

Those guys also ended their careers in Gentile perfectly, Lucas with a tough offensive rebound and Krutwig with a game sealing tip in. I'd love to have them back, they deserve to go out with some fans at home an a ton of fan fair, but I don't think anyone would blame them if they're ready for the next steps.

krutwig would have to be a moron not to capitalize on 3rd team all american.
