Surely a last-place finish this year would be the end for Dan Muller at ISUr?

I hope so. He is trash. If we have a losing season this year it will be our first time having three in a row.

Realistically he only has one more year on his contract after this one and I think they are just going to wait it out. No matter what he does he deserves to be gone though.

Dan Muller's peak was right at the top of the Valley. Unfortunately for ISUr it coincided with the best of WSU and Loyola. The trough seems to be the very bottom of the Valley. What gives? Can any Redbird fans clue me in? How did he go from the perennial Tournament title game loser to consensus number ten so quickly?

Having trouble deciding which ISU to vote for here... The new coach at ISUb is completely unknown but he has pedigree at his level and brought in players who know his system well. By contrast Dan Muller is a known quantity... I guess that makes my decision for me.

Think Tyreke Key alone is going to keep them out of 10th

I don't know. I never thought he was that good of a coach.

Dan is a very good assistant coach, and a good Head coach when he has good assistants to help. When he got to Normal, his top asst were Dana Ford and Torey Ward. Ward was killed in the plane crash, and Dana moved on. The players left over from them were top quality. Yaklich did a nice job and kept us at the top of the league, but when he moved on we hired Chris Duhon, who was a horrible drunk. We have never recovered. Muller needs to go regroup under a strong head coach for a few years. Maybe, like Moser, he can grow and learn from his mistakes. The problem is that his ego may not let him.
