Any word on how the Arch Madness bracket will be formatted next year with additional teams in The Valley?

Answer is in the other thread but I’ve copied it below.

What is the expected format for arch madness. Who gets buys?

Thursday (1st Round) RSNs
8v9 12pm
5v12 230pm
7v10 6pm
6v11 830pm

Friday (Quarterfinals) RSNs
1v8 12pm
4v5 230pm
2v7 6pm
3v6 830pm

Saturday (Semifinals) CBSSN
1v4 230pm
2v3 5pm

Sunday (Championship) CBS
1v2 1pm

You can usually get a discount on the hotel. Just call and ask for the MVC fan block discount. If you want to stay at your team’s hotel, wait and monitor the Arch Madness website to see which hotel your team gets.

Yep. We're not going to do any of the low major double bye crap.

And just a tip, we don't use the RSN lingo. It's MVC-TV.

Y'all are going to love Arch Madness. It's a blast of a weekend!!

This is the drum I've been beating for a while with going to 12 teams. I'll miss the regular season round robin but I'll gladly give it up for a full day of hoops on the Thursday of Arch Madness.

As we know, Thursday is usually the "throw away" day. This should bring added energy to the day because it levels the playing field. Sure the top four have an advantage with the bye to Friday but in this league, 3-6/7 are usually pretty close. I feel like there will be a lot more upsets than we've seen in the past. Especially of the 1 or 2 seeds on Friday.

Arch Madness '23 should be my return to STL. Haven't been since 2019 after not missing one since 2002. Hopefully the Redbirds will be relevant and ready to make some noise. In my experience, ILST fans travel well and bring a lot of energy if they don't play in the Thursday night games.

I've been seeing that 4 teams have byes to Friday and there are two games on Thursday. So, currently, The Valley only has 8 teams going to Arch Madness? Am I missing a couple teams? What's the current set up?

All 10 go. Top 6 get byes.

Thursday-
8 v 9
7 v 10

Friday
1 v 8/9
4 v 5
2 v 7/10
3 v 6

All 10 go. Thursday is very poorly attended. Hopefully, the full slate on Thursday will help. Historically, Thursday night teams don't tend to make it past Friday so those fans don't come out.

Current set up:
Thursday:
8 vs 9
7 vs 10

Friday
1 vs 8/9
4 vs 5
2 vs 7/10
3 vs 6

Sat
1/8/9 vs 4/5
2/7/10 v 3/6

Sunday: 1/4/5/8/9 vs 2/3/6/7/10

The "Play-in-Game" teams (seeds 7-10) had only ever won 1 game ever in 20 years on Friday against the #1 or #2 seed on Friday before 2 years ago.

Basically if you were in the play-in-game, you had no chance of making it past Friday, so it was not worth attending for those teams.

That will change when the 5 seed has to beat up on the 12 on Thursday and then go play the 4 seed Friday. The 3 and 4 seeds will have advantages not playing on Thursday, but some lower seeds will win more often than they do now with the new expanded bracket.

The 8/9 getting to play 6 hours earlier is a big difference.
