Every couple of days we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2023-24 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining.

Normally I would chalk one of the early UNI votes up to McBulldog, but sadly that can't be the case any longer.

Belmont must be the most liked school by MVC fans as they are the only team yet to receive a vote in any poll.

Considering their lack of fans, I think it is more of an out of sight, out of mind thing.

That said, I think they are being overlooked a bit. 5th [ preseason poll] is too low given their backcourt and coach; Alexander is easily top 3 coach in MVC . They have plenty of serviceable height, maybe better than serviceable.

Easily top 3 might be a bit overzealous. Arguably top 3? Certainly. He's a great coach. But there's a lot of well respected coaches in this league right now you could put up there. You've got DeVries, Wardle, Jacobson, Prohm, and even Schertz that all have arguments in their favor.

They also lost a first round draft pick. The guards are very good but they aren't Sheppard.

I picked Belmont 5th. I really like the top-end talent on the roster but they're going to be more reliant than some teams on unproven, young guys for their depth pieces. If there is a pleasant surprise or two among their underclassmen, they could be top three or so. Agree that coaching is a plus for them.
