8 degrees for the War on 74 tonight.

It's going to have to turn into spring awfully quick for STL in 2 weeks. Temperatures will have to pick up 50 degrees to get the mid-upper 50s Arch Madness usually gets.

Evansville at Indiana State 6 PM tonight! 111 miles up/down Highway 41 in SW Indiana, separates these 2 great mid-major basketball schools.

Indiana State leads the series 33-17, including 9-1 in the last 10 meetings.

My all time favorite game between ISU and Evansville was on a Saturday night, December 2, 1978 in front of 12,500 rowdy Aces fans in legendary Roberts Stadium. Of course, this was just the second year in D1 for the Aces, and the first year after the devastating plane crash in 12/13/1977. Indiana State won 74-70. Larry Bird was 16-32. 9 rebs, 40 points. Barry Weston had 20 for Evansville.

In the game a few days prior to ISU, Mark Aguirre, Clyde Bradshaw, HOF Coach Ray Meyer, and DePaul spanked the Aces 74-55. I remember Aguirre during pre-game warmups shooting and making bombs from off the court.

Great times. Aguirre then Bird back to back at the great Roberts Stadium.

Time for Comer, Turnbull and the Aces to reverse the recent trend to favor the Aces.

An apprehensive nation looks upon the ARC tonight as the Mo State bears challenge the Valpo Beacons for an at large birth in the MVC tournament. The level of basketball will be elite and all MVC foes will be scouting these two behemoths-trying to find a way either can be stopped.

Drake jumps out to a 21-0 start and coasts past UIC and the officials, 74-57.

Stirtz wtih 25 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 0 turnovers.

Right now, T. Comer of Evansville has to be getting votes for First Team MVC. Pozzato has to be in the lead for FOY. Turnbull has to be all defensive team.

Wright 22 second half points and the game winner...trying to hold pozzatto off for the FOY but pozzatto is a beast no doubt. Really love his game. Evansville kind of seems to be jelling at the right time.
