IMO, there are only two guys who are sure-fire, First Team guys: Bennett Stirtz and Tytan Anderson. After that you can throw 10-15 names in a hat and fill out the rest of the All-League teams.

I feel the same way and that extends to the newcomer team, defensive team and improved team as well.

I've got a suspicion they might give Tytan DPOY as a 'consolation' prize for not being POY when he would have been in most other years.

This year's teams will be interesting.

There are a lot of guys whose stats look the part, but play on bottom-half teams and guys playing on the top teams whose numbers don't look as good, but are impacting winning more.

Stirtz is definitely first team and likely POY, but after him who on the outright league champ is going to have the numbers to convince people to vote them in?

UNI has Anderson...then who? Campbell?

Duke Deen has had multiple games where his late-game heroics earned wins for Bradley, but his numbers are kind of pedestrian.

Wild to think that the three best teams - by a good margin - might only combine for two first-team all-conference players and maybe four on all three teams.

I personally like players who produce on winning teams over guys who get numbers on bad teams, but we'll see how it shakes out with the voters.

I agree with your philosophy. You start with the best teams and work your way down - relatively speaking.

I think you'll get some from the pool of Abreu, Mascari, Campbell, Hutson, Hannah, Davis and Montgomery.

The top 3 have just separated so much that they should be over represented.

Guys like Teel, Comer and Dez White have awesome numbers but winning has to mean something at some point.

Last year Xavier Johnson finished 6th (SIU). He was All-MVC First Team because of his numbers. The difference last year is that the other first team member had numbers to go along with finishing in the top of the standings. This year is different. The player’s in the top of the conference don’t exactly have the numbers.
The Larry Bird Award winner is usually the most outstanding player on the best team. The rest should be the best players no matter of where their team finished.

But that's where the subjective interpretation of "best" comes in. You seem to be talking about best numbers. Others will look at it differently.

Is the guy scoring 20 ppg on a 7-win team really a better player than the guy scoring 14 on a 15-win team?

I’m not saying this as an anti ISU thing - but I’ve seen people with Kinziger and Walker on the first and second teams consistently. If those two are that good then Ryan Pedon must really suck. Two All League guys and can’t be above .500 in the league?
