I would say Under. The only 2 I potentially see is Les and C-Lo.

Over! Les and Lowery are gone. Either Cuonzo or Marshall leaves.

I'd like to know how SIU is going to be able to afford to eat Lowery's contract and pay a new coach. With their budgetary situation, that doesn't seem realistic to me.

They should never have paid him that scratch.

1.5

Les, gone. It is time. Even Les knows it's time.

Lowery, maybe. If SIU can pony up the cash, they will part ways, but there just isn't enough cash in Carbondale.

If either Missouri State or Wichita State makes a run in the tourney, Marshall or Martin could be gone as well, but at this point I don't see a run happening. Drake will not fire Phelps, and while fans seem to be disontent, he is recruiting well and the team is getting better.

McDermott is in his first year at Creighton, he struggled at iowa State, so he is neither a candidate to be fired or hired elsewhere.

Jankovich should be on the hotseat, but still not to the point of being fired. Of all of the Valley coaches, he has disappointed me the most. In my opinion, he inherited the most talent in the Valley and didn't win a regular season or tourney championship. He schedules soft and this year, the whole enchilada is falling apart. That is a feat in itself, enchiladas are wrapped in a tortilla and shouldn't fall apart, Jank found a way.

Jacobson will leave the Valley someday, but UNI disappointed this year. The loss of O'Rear hurt badly. If UNI rebounds next year, he will become a commdity.

Simmons isn't going anywhere. If there was a guy that wanted to stay in the Valley for a career, he is it. He is an Evansville alum and he is home.

Greg Lansing has had a great year, but I just don't see a first year coach that finished in third place in what is a mediocre conference this year, getting any looks.

Cuonzo isn't going anywhere. No school worth leaving for is going to offer him a job on the basis of one (or fewer) NCAA tournament appearances. Short of a run to the Sweet 16 or better, there's a zero percent chance Martin is leaving...

How many NCAA tournaments did Mark Turgeon take WSU to?
How many NCAA tourneys did Keno Davis take Drake to? How many NCAA tourney games did he win?
How many NCAA tourneys did Matt Painter take SIU to?

I'm not saying Martin is going anywhere, but it's not unusual for BCS teams to grab a coach who has only been to 1 NCAA tournament.

I think the only coaches with a chance of getting fired are Les and Lowery.

I think that Marshall, Martin or Jacobson could get offers from a bigger school, although I'd be very surprised if Jacobson goes anywhere.

I don't know if SIU has the money to get rid of Lowery.

Still, I'll take the over.

I would say over.

Les is likely to go. Some say it's a done deal, others disagree. If I were a betting man I would say BU will have a new coach next year. But who knows, a run to the semis might change people's minds.

Lowery I think is finished. Money will be the deciding factor there. A guy I talked to who is somewhat 'in the know' says it could get ugly.

Then you have 8 more teams to choose from. I think Marshall is going to try as hard as he can to get out of Wichita for a variety of reasons. Cuonzo needs an NCAA run to get a better offer. I don't see anyone else getting fired or leaving for greener pastures. But, I didn't see McKenna leaving so late in the game either, so I am going to stick with 'Over'.

Painter was hand-selected to take over his alma-mater...

Keno knew he had caught lightning in a bottle in his one season at Drake and knew that was his one and only chance to take the money and run to a Big East bottom feeder.

Turgeon had sustained success (3 NIT's and an NCAA Sweet 16) at Wichita State and 9 years of head coaching experience overall.

All very different cases than this......
