Arch Madness Traditions

I'd like to know what traditions people have on their trips to the tournament each year(i.e. places you go, etc) For us, it's usually just a combination of casino, Morgan st, and McGirks with a late night stop at Mauricios until my gut explodes

I remember when it used to entail a pre-game beverage at the Daquiri Factory in Union Station, Hooters at Union Station, and postgame at Sundecker's, Morgan St, and Oz. We've kind of taken Union Station out of the equation with the demise of the Factory and Hooters. Oz I think has been eliminated for personal safety reasons.

I also recall one year seemingly driving halfway to Arkansas at 3 AM to get Steak and Shake.

Maurizio's is one place I've got to eat at once each time I'm down there. Used to meet up with other ValleyTalk people at Hooter's at Union Station. Union Station seems to be pretty worthless recently.

1. Drinking a lot of overpriced beers starting at noon on Friday
2. A lot of random nonesense resulting from number 1.

What happened over there? Last year it was like a ghost town.

I would like to know also??? I haven't been down to the last couple years but last time we were down it was always a dead area.

Another reason I would love to see the tourney get to KC. Can you imagine games at the Sprint Center and then the Power & Light district at night.......that would be awesome! :buddies:

I have some close friends who are definitely on your KC bandwagon. I used to be opposed to it moving to KC, but the more I think about it, and the more I go to St. Louis, the more I am in favor of it.

There is a fantastic BBQ place called Pappy's Smokehouse. It's on the edge of SLU's campus and probably a good mile or 2 from the Scottrade Center. GIve it a try. It's great stuff!

We used to go to the Big Bang all the time, but that has kind of lost some of it's luster. We do quite a bit of bar hopping.
