They are. That won't last, as their real gains are in the fact that the Valley regressed more than they got better. Now with UNO joining the Summit, they will get a little regression of their own.

Wow these people are nuts. They are essentially saying the North Central Conference is going to be better than the Valley. Guess what Summit? Your league is full of guarantee games for big conferences and for MVC teams as well. The MVC had their worst season in forever and even your stats show we are way better than the Summit.

UNO has no fans in this area and bringing your teams in to play won't help attendance. There is a reason why 800 people go to their basketball games and once they can't take D1 castoffs who can play immediately they will stink too.

Basketball snobbery at its finest. Read the below:

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

We really, really must get back to landing two teams in the dance next year. Worry about 3 or 4 down the road, but 2 is a must.

Dad, maybe so but what part do you disagree with? If I go on a rant that the MVC is going to surpass the Big 10, wouldn't we expect to be corrected?

13 Seed

Obviously the Summit isn't going to come close to competing with the Valley in terms of resources, commitment and fan support anytime soon. But we might be threatened in terms of actual quality of basketball, at least when comparing the top teams. I couldn't tell you who was at the bottom of the Summit this year, and I don't really care..but I'd probably put Oakland ahead of any Valley teams.

They can't be worse than Centenary, of course that isn't saying much.

I don't think the Summit will ever catch up to the MVC, some schools in the league just will never grow to that level.

The league will definitely improve, thanks in large part to finally having a decent footprint. It made no sense sending schools to Utah and Louisiana. But how much the league improves will depend on schools helping themselves by investing in their athletic teams and from what I've seen some schools struggle supporting what they have now.

Really? The fact is that we are much closer to the Big XII than the Mid-Continent Conference is to us. We have the right to ridicule them if they feel that they are on par with us. That's just how I feel at least.
