Redbird starters are pretty up in the air right now and there are a lot of differing opinions. Here's mine.

Nic Moore (FR)
Justin Clark (JR)
Jon Ekey (RS-SO)
John Wilkins (JR)
Jackie Carmichael (JR)

6th Man: Jordan Threloff (RS-FR) *Should log some good minutes and have an impact as a big man.

-The hope is that Nic Moore coming in will live up to the hype. Should be Indiana Mr. Basketball, but a short post season run could leave him short of that goal.

Our Bench (currently):

Anthony Cousin (JR) -Played a ton of point for us this year, but a lot of people would like to see him at the 2G.
Trey Blue (JR) -2G Little bit of a let down after some hype as a transfer out of Fordam
Kenyon Smith (JR) -Played very little PG this year after an injury plagued season. *was backup at Simeon behind Derrick Rose.
Zeke Upshaw (RS-SO) -Logged very few minutes. Only came in when we were in a jam with foul trouble. Is a bit of a tweener at the 3-4.
Bryant Allen (?) -A PG transfer from Minnesota. 2 sport athlete that is using up a football scholly.
Nick Zeisloft (FR) -A much needed incoming wing man considered one of the best pure shooters in the 2011 Illinois Class.
Johnny Hill (FR) -Small Forward with great upside. Was voted H.S. State Tournament MVP in Illinois for being the leading scorer through 3 games with a total of 70pts. I am excited about his potential.

I see the Trees starting line-up depending on what style ISU wants to play...
If we decide to go more traditional...
PG Odum/Mcwhorter
SG Printy/Lathan/Brown
SF RIchard/Smith
PF Mahurin/Gant/ Kitchell (even though I think Kitchell is more of a 5)
C Walker/Kitchell
If we continue the smaller team mold
PG Same as above
SG Printy/Lathan/Brown
SF Smith/ Lathan/Brown
PF Richard/Mahurin/Gant
C Walker/Kitchell

You may look and see that we're losing 4 seniors and say "MSU is going to suck balls next year," but we will be a completely different team athletically. The reason we couldn't keep up with teams like Tennessee, Oklahoma State, and Miami is because they were so much longer and more athletic than us, it will be completely different next season.
If you couldn't keep up with those teams with one of the best teams in school history, that included 4 seniors starting, I don't have much hope for you next year.

Weems is the only player that "scares" me in any fashion coming back for MSU.

You know what? Idk. I would think he would...I should prolly say that If we go small I would bet both Printy and Lathan start...starting to be honest is really overrated...some of the best players come off the bench.

Just wanted to expand a bit

valleychamp wrote:Johnny Moran Sr -lock
Anthony James Jr - lock
Marc Sonnen Jr - Either Marc or True Fr. Deon Mitchell, I would say lock to Sonnen but starting Marc leaves almost 0 experience off the bench. I don't know if I like that
Jake Koch Jr -lock
Austin Pehl (big question mark) Jr - I still see him starting but you could see True Fr. Seth Tuttle possibly start also.

Chip Rank Soph- He improved a lot IMO the end of the year
Nate Buss Fr - Not sure about him. I know he plays more like a guard even though he's 6-9
Seth Tuttle Fr - Possible starter if he gains weight. I like his game a lot
Deon Mitchell Fr - Possibly one of the best guard recruits we've ever had coming out of high school
Marvin Singleton Fr - True freshman will play. He is huge and does not look like a freshman
Matt Bohannon Fr - Redshirts IMO

Max Martino Fr - Not sure but some seem to think he could also play
Matt Morrison Soph - I think he will get a few minutes

We are setting up to be extremely good in a couple years

Key word there *TEAM*

This years Bears team had a chemistry I have NEVER seen before and I think that's a big reason why we won the league.

Good. Then don't guard Scheer or bother with Pickens. I won't mind.

Will Creekmore, via twitter:

"Like to offer a real big f you to all you tough Internet posters. Come holler at me. You know where to find me"

Not that surprising really. I can see why so many MSU fans want him back, considering he just said "f you" to all of them.

Now, you can see why so many non-MSU fans respect and love him.
