There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Kent State does have two verbal commitments from the state of Illinois. Just saying.

It looks like Geno will have a very busy week trying to figure who is coming and who is going.

sounds like a lateral move to me. Is he getting a big pay raise?

The reports are that he's getting a raise from $300,000 to the $700,000 range.

Incentives could move that number.

If true, BU is now paying like a top MVC school. I'm guessing he'll have a shorter leash than Les with regard to winning, since the money invested is higher.

Sounds like a good hire. Hopefully they're not too quick as Bradley is not in good shape and he'll need a few years to really get things moving. But this is a solid get and I expect him to find some success in a couple of years.

Frankly this is better than whoever I thought they'd get. Jeter would have been a slam dunk, so this is akin to a nice reverse layup.

Wasn't Les in the $300,000 dollar range too? I just find it hard to believe that Bradley would more than double the current salary for a coach that hadn't coached a game yet. How reliable are the reports?

Les was a bit higher than that, roughly $400,000.

The reports came from the Kent State beat writer, who seemed to be spot on during the entire process. Even if that's on the high side, I'm guessing they paid him more than Les.

They probably overpaid, but that's what you have to do to get a successful coach to move laterally (or close to lateral -- BU is a better job than Kent State).
