Painter to Missouri???

So he is meeting with Mizzou officials in Florida where he is vacationing. They seem to say Painter is the leading candidate.

I am not completely convinced he would leave Purdue for Mizzou. That would seem to be a lateral move, but maybe he doesn't think Purdue is committed or doesn't get along with someone at the University. But at this point everything is still speculation.

Sounds like he and the AD butt heads a lot. I think in the past he has tried to go to bat for his assistants in terms of raises and has been told no.

Long term, I think either could be the better job. Mizzou could have problems if the Big 12 south teams want to try and leave again any time soon

Is there any truth to the rumors that Lansing was in West Lafayette today?

I saw the rumors today that Indiana State coach Greg Lansing was seen at Purdue today.

It sounded like utter BS to me, for reasons I’ll explain shortly, but just in case, I texted Lansing.

He indicated that he was in town today. He wasn’t sure where the rumor started.
