Kennedy has already interviewed, and it apparently went well. That is why there are those reports.

Aggies athletic director Bill Byrne met with Kennedy, 47, early Saturday and Northern Iowa’s Ben Jacobson, 40, on Saturday evening — both out of state — an A&M insider said. Kennedy has not responded to repeated emails and calls for comment. Byrne couldn’t be reached for comment on Saturday night.

I've been reading the same thing, but I first read it before the interview with Jacobson took place. Why would they fly all the way to North Dakota to interview BJ if they had already made up their mind to hire Kennedy?

I'm not saying Kennedy won't be the guy, just that some of the stories (which all started with a Tweet) might have been premature.
