This isn't happening, at least not now.

If a move were to take place I don't think SWOMO and WSU would move together. WSU needs an all-bball conference with Creighton, Bradley, St. Louis and whoever else. SWOMO has more options with football, but their program has a long way to go.

The reality is, that if CUSA is looking for new schools, it is because they are losing schools to the Big East. Likely, Memphis and UCF for instance. What kind of conference do you have without those schools?

And this move simply would not make any sense for MSU, nor CUSA without the inclusion of football for MSU. And why in the world would a football conference like CUSA look to a horrible FCS program like MSU to join their conference?

If CUSA needs a new school, the first place they will look is Appalachian State. They have a football program that is peers with those who are in that conference.

Regarding MBB, CUSA is a 1 bid league without Memphis. A quick google search shows that the last time a school from that conference not named Memphis won an NCAA tournament game was 2005.

Plus, with more members, the NCAA money is spread even thinner.

What does MSU average in football attendance anyway? IS MSU FB even a draw?

MSU football has the potential to draw tremendously. I think football is our future. But also do not overlook academics in the equation too.

If MSU wants to leave, bu-bye. Add SLU and the MVC is better for it.

SLU would not leave the A10 for the Valley. No interest there whatsoever. And SLU would not make up for MSU at all.

So says the impartial MSU fan. I wouldn't blame MSU for leaving it they could afford it, but who controls the purse strings for moving up in football as the cost would be immense. When Nebraska-Omaha looked at moving to D1 (FBS), the power people in Lincoln wouldn't have it. Would a similar problem exist if the Mizzou folks didn't want MSU to move up?

Good for MSU if they get out and try to better their standing. I hope ISU will do it too. I love the valley, but it is starting to run it's course. Until we start regularly sending 2+ teams to the NCAA tourney consistantly, we are no better of a conference than the OVC, Sun Belt, MAC and all other one bid conferences.

Absolutely, a thousand times yes! We are feared by the Boone Countians. They do not like competition and they already duck us in football and basketball, including women's. I think they would exert great political pressure to keep us down but it won't work. We'd own the state in most sports in a decade or so if allowed to move up. Just his year we whipped up on them in baseball twice and would have won in men's and women's basketball too.
