McDermott > Weems
It's not even close. Weems is a good Valley player. McDermott is a legitimate AA selection as a So. McDermott has a shot at being better than Kyle Korver - both in Valley career and post-Valley career.
Weems has a shot at being better than Jamar Howard. Weems could even get to the point where he might be considered an equal to Ben Jacobsen - the player - not the coach.
CU bringing in McDermott and Chatman is an indication that CU is looking for something more than the one-and-done Altman era results in the NCAA's. WSU is bringing in some recruits that are better than they've historically had and is in on some recruits for next year that are way past what WSU has historically had. Maybe Marshall is aiming too high and won't get the recruits he's going after where he's up against BCS schools.
With what Marshall and McDermott are bringing to the MVC, there's a possibility that CU and WSU are moving toward consistent upper-level finishes in the league and consistent NCAA appearances.
I'm delighted to see McDermott bringing serious talent to CU. I hope Marshall responds by bringing similar talent to WSU and any win either team gets against the other is considered a serious win on the national level.
