When Evansville actually does something to make headway in the conference, more respect will be given. The potential is there this year, but as of now, it is only potential.

Yea, I can't wait to win the Valley tournament, and get to the big dance, and then get all the respect that
Indiana State is getting this year.

It is what I have said many times over. You do something good in the year, then the "internet message board fans" will want to know one of a couple things. How many games did you win in the NCAA. Or you are a one hit wonder(another words now you have to sustain that winning to get respect). Or "yes, you had a good year but what about the last 10 years??

That was a hell of a jab and I like your style.

You're right though. One fluky Valley Tournament title still wouldn't change my current thoughts on Evansville. They would get an ounce of respect, but when you haven't done anything in the last decade, then yes, it's gonna come more slowly than for teams that have actually done something to help this conference out over the years. That is also why it's so slow for Indiana State to bask in the glow of fellow rival fans. Oh, and it also doesn't help that most of them are off the deep end with the Jake Odum religion.

Amen. Our freshman bigs are underweight and are unlikely to even equal the limited value departed van Tongeren and Hopf provided, who were at least familiar with the motion offense and could take up space. Our only other alternative is senior 5 player Peeler who has slow feet, is foul prone, and rode the bench all of last season. Combine this with Colt Ryan having to continue to play out of position at the 4 spot and this spells trouble for our team. Simmons will likely counter, like he did last year, with small ball that will produce mixed results. I hope I'm wrong, but we will be lucky to end up 5th in the league at season end.
