Wanna put some money down on that?
I believe that would only get them to 11-1, but without any eye-popping victories, there is no way a team with only 1 vote this week is going to "definitely crack the poll" in two week's time with a win over Ohio.
Win out through the Creighton game and then you will "definitely" have a case.
I'd be pretty disappointed if we weren't in the poll at 12-1, with wins @ODU, @Iowa State, Iowa, Milwaukee, Providence, Rice, and Ohio. Thats a really solid non-conf resume.
Like I said, It will be interesting to see how many votes we end up this week. But I'd be surprised if we were not ranked next week if we are able to beat a really good Ohio team. That is certainly worthy of top 25, IMO.
Deserving of and receiving votes are two different animals. The only hope UNI has to jump in quickly is if there are poll voters who simply look to see who is at the top of different conferences and vote for those teams. With Creighton's loss, UNI jumps to the top of a lot of lists now based on RPI and W/L pct with no conference games. Still don't think we move that far up as we are coming from completely off the radar. I am not sure that winning out until the week of the Creighton game will even be enough to crack the actual top 25.
