I agree with 77.

It comes down, in my opinion, to how driven Coach Marshall is to winning a national championship. If it is a 10 on a 10 scale, he probably will leave.

In his current job, there are not any negatives. He is king of the mountain and he can have everything, which he wants.

He and his family love Wichita and he makes plenty of money and there will always be more of it. Wichita has more than its share of very wealthy folks per capita, so fund raising for Coach Marshall will never be a problem.

So, the final question is this: Is he more like Coach Turgeon or more like Coach Few?

We will have to wait and see.

I don't know where Marshall will end up but thinking he will go further north to play B10 slow ball just doesn't make sense to me.

I think he will eventually end up in the southeast somewhere or along the east coast.

Except, of course, that Marshall doesn't have the NCAA tourney appearances and wins at WSU that Butler, Gonzaga have experienced...

You're right. There are still things Marshall has to prove at WSU. The question is -- will he stay long enough to do so. No one knows the answer to that except Gregg Marshall.

As a WSU fan, I am much more worried about the South Carolina job. Perhaps even the UCLA.
Thoughts and prayers to WSU finding a new conference.

I like Chris Jans. He has responsibility for preparing the scout and strategy for all the big games and is a key recruiter.
Random MVCFans.com member, circa 2007: "Gregg Marshall is in over his head in this conference."

The plus - Home is where the heart is.

The negative - The probability of winning the college basketball holy grail at S. Carolina is pretty slim.

South Carolina is a horrible job. Marshall would be a fool to leave WSU for that job.

Marshall is in over his head in the Missouri Valley Conference. He should go back to the Big South.

I have a lot of respect for WSU and what Greg Marshall has accomplished since being there. I go back and forth in my mind on who I think the best coach in The Valley but I feel it is either Marshall or Jacobson. Both are really good. My allegiances are elsewhere but I do hope Greg Marshall is at WSU for a long time to come.
