Kanaskie is working as associate head coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions. I'd say he's unavailable.

Kanaskie followed DeChellis to Navy.

Waltman is working as commentator on the IU Hoosiers radio network. He's available if he's willing.

This trend of replacing MVC coaches with former MVC coaches is interesting. When does Dana Altman return, and at what school?

I have two words for Illinois State:

JIM. LES.

I hear he even has a son that plays D1 ball too. Obviously a tremendous chance to copy the McDermott plan.

Can't wait for Jank and his scheduling to get the heck out of the Valley.

Jank should have a good team next season and it's being reported that Danny Manning is going to get the Tulsa job. Aargh mentioned Manning earlier in the thread and it looks like he's the Bill Self-connected choice instead of Jank.

I think Jank would have been a better choice, but this is a fast-track opportunity for Manning. He wins at Tulsa and he'll be in line for a big time gig in the next 3-5 years.

I would hope Jank wouldn't really take the Tulsa gig. A lateral move and the Redbirds should be good next year. If KSU comes calling, can't blame him if he goes. How much is Jank making at Illinois St.? I would imagine KSU would come looking around a million or just over that. Martin made right around 1.5 this year.

Sounds like it is all but official that Manning got the Tulsa job. Supposedly they have agreed on terms. Waiting for announcement.

Now it's down to K-State.

They won't announce it until KU is done.

I'd be a bit disappointed as we have a good chance to contend for the MVC crown next season. That being said, if he had an integral part in our pathetic scheduling over the past several seasons, then adios!!

I'd like to see Dan Mullins get a shot. Tenacious defender, Academic All American (I believe), and played at ISU.

If Jank leaves the MVC will be the poorer for it. Dude is a good recruiter, a fine gameday coach, and a damn funny interview.
