Collateral damage............think that is what they call it? I agree with the posters that say that hiring Dan Muller will be a heck of a lot more important for the Redbird faithful than losing Nic Moore. Where were all of the scholly offers from "BCS" pimps when Moore was "fair game to all"? Also agree that he will be recruited over by a 6'5-200 lb. PG or SG wherever he goes and will be riding the pine a lot more than his ego would believe right now.

Agreed. No doubt Nic played very well in the MVC Tournament and in the NIT. But the guy wasn't some kind of legend in the MVC. He wasn't on a different level. He was a nice freshman point guard. That's it. He averaged 10 ppg. Shot under 40%.

I don't mean to be anti-ISU but there was so much luck involved in all of this. ISU wins the last game of the regular season in OT at Bradley. They lose that game, if Walt Lemon makes a shot at the end, then the Redbirds are a playin team in the MVC Tournament and never even see the NIT.

The Redbirds were 9-9 in the MVC. An above average team that got hot at the end. Nic Moore was an above average point guard that got hot in the end. Can he play in the Big Ten? Sure. Will he be a star? Not a chance.

Often times these things backfire--he could have been a very good Valley player and maybe even a legend point guard at ISU --and sitting and going somewhere else as an outsider coming in may backfire--I would not be surprised at all if his "handlers" are giving him bad advice & he eventually regrets this transfer --and I also agree that ISU has brought in a promising first-class guy as their head coach.

Well...if he goes from being a potential all-MVC player to a much lesser player in the Big Ten, as you're prediciting, that speaks volumes about the caliber of play in our coference.

Personally, I think he would have been a contender for POY next season. Huge loss, but I wish him well.

Welding.

Relax Aces. I am just kidding.

I have often said on this fine forum that UE is a very fine Methodist institution. It is right up there with Drake and Creighton.

+1.

Skilled point guards are not easy to find for mid-major programs.
The Red Birds lost a four year starter. Bummer.
I feel for the Red Birds.

I don't think it is any kind of secret that the level of player in the MVC isn't similar to that of the Big Ten. Rayvonte Rice is an All-MVC level player in this league--he won't be an all-Big 10 player in that league.

I liked Nic Moore. I think he is a good player. I do think he is becoming overvalued a bit during all of this--as is the entire ISU team from last season.
