ISU(red) has proven a great record against terrible competition doesn't get any rewards from the committee.

There is a middle ground.

You don't need to schedule like a Jankovich, but it does look like UNI played too difficult of a schedule for their particular talent level.

Outside of the Atlantis tournament, it also looks like UNI didn't directly schedule most of the opponents, so maybe they just got a bit unlucky.

There is a middle ground, sure, but as you pointed out most of it was just unlucky in this instance.

As a mid-major, you have to take every good game that you can get, and for better or worse the good teams really happened to pile up this year for UNI.

Like Kyle said, I'd much rather have this schedule than a bunch of scrubs because it gives us a shot to make a name for ourselves and earn an at-large resume. We didn't get it done this year, but I'm glad we had those opportunities.

I think UNI fans are almost in unanimous agreement that this was the way to go with the team we had coming back. Last year we were 10-2 with a very average schedule and it wouldn't have gotten us in, even with a better Valley record.

Bad luck was a part of it, we had no control over UNLV, Mason, and losing a home game with Iowa State. St Mary's just kind of happened through ESPN...

Next year backs off, but is still fairly agressive. Paradise Jam, @Ohio, @Milwaukee, home vs VCU, Iowa State in Des Moines.

I watched the 2nd half of the game vs. Iowa.
If what I saw resembles the offense they've implemented in other games, they will be a middle-pack Valley team. Geez - Bradley's offensive schemes look better than UNI's. Lots of 1-on-1 play too, which is not typical of the UNI approach that I've grown accustomed to seeing in the past 6-7 seasons.

UNI runs the exact same offense that they have run for the last 10 years, which has yielded 5 NCAA trips and several MVC championships.

More or less true, but the number of and type of sets used will vary depending on the personnel. This is not a great UNI team like some of those who made the trips you mentioned. They can be good, and should be better than they are.

True, but the talent level on this year's team is nowhere close to that of the NCAA teams.

Maybe, but thats debatable. Mitchell and Tuttle are pretty good, but are only sophomores. Our veteran players are certainly not as good as what some of those other teams had.

Is Tuttle playing better then? I was totally unimpressed with him in the 2 UNI games ive seen this year. And I REALLY liked his game last year.
