MVC Thanksgiving Tourneys

It looks like Evansville is playing in some sort of round robin event play at campus sites with Mercer, Ohio, Alcorn State, and Valparaiso.

maybe not alcorn st. looks like Anderson. Mercer, Valpo at hone, on road at Ohio. Also, Murray St on road, IU on road, Xavier on road. Jackson St and Grambling at home. Butler at home. Also, IUPIU at home.

Now it seems we are playing in the Portland St. MTE with Portland St., UC-Davis and SIU-Edwardsville.

Ugh. What a stinker of a tournament. The only saving grace is that UC-Davis has one hell of a guard in Corey Hawkins.

Tyler shot 46% from three last season. That is pretty good!

WSU is getting shafted by the CBE agin. Lst time we played in that tournament, we ended up with a hoe game against Arkansas-Monticello. This year's contract guaranteed 4 D1 opponents. The CBE is one of the tournaments where you get two crappy home games in exchange for 2 name opponents.

The CBE only had 3 of the crappy opponents lined up when Canisius dropped out of the tourney to play in the pre-season NIT tourney. That leaves the CBE with only 2 D1 bottom-feeders and needing 4.

It's starting to look like we're going to get a D2 opponent for a home game from this tourney. In Kansas City, we get DePaul and (if we win) the winner of the Texas/BYU game. Not much of a SoS boost out of that tourney.
