Here's the 2013 RPI of Loyola's non-conf opponents:
UW Milwaukee - 307
Tenn. Tech - 242
Tulane - 178
Rockhurst - D2
Portland St - 339
UC Davis - 234 (Hi, coach Les)
SIU-E - 304
Miss. St - 230
Ill. Chicago - 169
Campbell - 289
N. Illinois - 333
Fordham - 229

Best case scenario: Porter Moser gets a visit from Basketball Jesus
(confidently I say unto thee that the Big Priest doesn't have exclusive access)
and Loyola starts 12-0. They'd still start the conference season below 150 in the RPI.

Loyola had better win that UC-Davis game or tornadouche/BUGRAD96/User1/admin/xb7 will have a boner for a month.

This game is set in Portland. This is a normal reaction to all things Portland.

The last time I checked, exhibition games don't count against RPI's, unlike say for example, getting hammered by SWAC teams and losing all of your non-cons.

Well, Jimmy was up and down on neutral courts. He had great wins like Kansas, Pitt, and Illinois on his resume. However he also had a nice loss to Lubbock Christian, as well as a pretty terrible record at Arch Madness. So it can go either way. He's done well against Moser in the past, and my guess is Corey Hawkins will be the best player on the floor. I'll be surprised if Loyola wins.

Were we talking this year were we not? You are right that was a horrible loss, but does not have any bearing on this season.

I don't know if it has 'NO' bearing on this season.

It definitely has bearing on fans that probably shouldn't be throwing stones for a couple of years regarding RPI-killing.

I'm actually not at all bothered by exhibition game results. Just this week we saw something called a Dixie State beat UNLV. Drury led the Duke Blue Devils at halftime. Missouri Southern outscored Arkansas in the second half. And Central Missouri had a lead on Mizzou at halftime as well.

It's probably not a great sign but it doesn't make me think they are cellar bound just yet.
