I do think it will be difficult for WSU to get an 8-9 seed though. I think the exposure and national perception this year is such that IF WSU does enough to warrant an NCAA at-large bid it will be in the 5-7 range.

Based on what we've seen so far, Wichita St won't be a high seed. Plenty of time to correct the problems but the Shox don't even look like the best team in the valley.

Only three undefeated teams left in the Valley. Who would you put in front of them?

Indiana State has the most impressive win so far. It is a little early to put to much stock into that but I could see a couple of teams knocking the shocks back to thier place bear the middle of the pack.

If Wichita goes there, it'll mean they're in a 8-9 game. Not desirable.

What have you seen so far? How many games are we into the season?

Based on what I've seen out of UNC so far, they won't be making the NCAA Tournament.

Ha ha. Now that's funny!

Gotta love a Shocker fan that can make a statement like that even in jest. :+1:

I agree that Indiana State looks the most impressive so far. However, how is it WSU's "place in the middle of the pack"? Can't really be their place when they haven't been there in quite a while, unlike say a Missouri State.... :?

5 years is quite a while? I guess to a 20 year old maybe.

Here are the pertinent rules I found: http://www.ncaa.com/sites/default/files ... edures.pdf

"A team will not be permitted to play in any facility in which it has played more than
three games during its season, not including conference post-season tournaments.

A host institution’s team shall not be permitted to play at the site where the
institution is hosting. However, the team may play on the same days when the institution is
hosting.

Teams may play at a site where the conference of which it is a member is serving as the host."

That makes sense, as a SLU alum, I knew they couldn't play in STL for some reason in 2012. I was wrong about WSU, would love to see them here in STL.

Shocker fans would love it too. Greensboro, Portland, Salt Lake, LA, Atlanta have been the recent sites. That's a lot of flying, with only Atlanta being the really reasonable ticket price. I suspect any Valley team that got placed in St. Louis would have a nice following, and not only from their own fanbase.
