This is the best Aces team since the '99 team coached by Jim Crews. So far, this team does not pass the ball around for 30 seconds before taking an off balance 3 point shot. I don't think that they can win this game because their less than dominate rebounding, and their inability to keep the other team from scoring, will be exposed. I don't think that we will see a 30-40 point loss, like has been the case lately against upper level teams, but I just don't think we can stay with IU for 40 minutes. DJ may get his 29 points, or he may not, but in any case a number of other guys are going to have career games to stay with the Hoosiers.

I know this would be like talking to a brick wall, but I think people should give some Aces fans a little slack. After all, it's been 14 years since the Aces had a team that has a chance to beat any MVC team on a given night, and it's very easy to get carried away. I hope the Aces can at least keep it interesting, and let the chips fall where they may.

I don't understand that comment. Aces have not always had the talent but they have always been a difficult challenge since Marty took over such as wins over WSU last year (twice) and over Creighton in 2012.

This will be a stern test. If the Aces can hang in there and not fall victim to a large run, they stand a chance of hanging around long enough to give themselves a chance. Three seasons ago, the year before they got Zeller and upset UK at home, UE had a 6 point lead at the half before IU came out and scored 15-16 straight out of the half, most of them on 3's by Creek and Watford and that was the game. Controlling that emotion and being able to right the ship if you will after a couple of poor possession on both ends and not letting that 5-0, 6-0 run balloon into a double digit margin over a run is the key tonight in my eyes. It's a great opportunity and will test the young guys a lot and will serve them well down the line for Valley play.

Can't wait to watch weary eyed after work at 3AM tonight.

I thought this game might open around 10-11 for IU. The fact that it was 14, and has remained there, makes it sound like they are begging people to play the Aces. What that usually means is a win the other way. The rebounding numbers are the biggest mismatch stat in this game and Evansville's defense has been pedestrian at best. Would love to be wrong but this looks like IU 87-69.

Going to need a big game out of Mock. Today is the acid test for the Aces. I remember a couple of years ago when Evansville got routed by UNC (50 point loss). I think today is a turning point in the program.

Don't remind me.

But yes, generally optimistic about tonight's game. Will be more surprised if IU covers than if UE wins.
