Bottom line is that WSUs marquee win is AT St. Louis and that is okay, but not great. St. Louis, however is 10-2 with losses at home to WSU and neutral against top 10 Wisconsin. BYU is 7 and 5 with losses to 3 unbeaten teams plus 10-1 Utah and 10-1 UMass. Only UNI has a tougher strength of schedule in the MVC than WSU. Are the Shockers top 10 good? Maybe. It is at least a legit topic of conversation.

No.

Not so much. Wiggins and Wessel have been missing shots at an impressive clip. Assuming that doesn't continue, we are 5 deep. Lufile has made major improvements and is a decent post with size and athleticism. Statistically he is significantly better than Orukpe was last year with similar minutes. Carter has made massive improvements. His first 4 games (Emporia State, William and Mary, Tennessee State, Depaul) he averaged 4.6 points and 3.2 boards. His last 6 games (BYU, Saint Louis, Oral Roberts, Tennessee, Alabama, NCC) he averaged 10.7 points and 6.7 rebounds. That includes a game where he got 4 fouls and played just 10 minutes. If you remove that, it's 12 and 7.5 in 22.5 minutes. Last year Carl Hall averaged 12.5 and 6.8 in 28.6 minutes. For the course of the year (11 games for Carter and 32 for Hall), Carter is outperforming Hall in points and boards on a 40 minute average.

Those who worry now will continue to do so until March. No one will know how we will play against elite teams until we get a chance to play them.
