Because it is a basketball forum and the MVC tournament is what up next. There will be 2 weeks to discuss the NCAA tournament.

Vegas says WSU are 1-4 to win the MVC title. I like that.[
Shockers are good, really really good, but they have NEVER WON ARCH MADNESS and have been favored to do so before. Won't believe it until they actually get it done. How many times have all-session tickets and motel rooms been left empty in St. Louis before Championship Sunday?

UE used to have a Christmas Tourney every year. Even though they were College Division (DII) they had teams like Jasksonville with Artis Gilmore, Florida, Iowa, etc. Anyway right after the crash SIU called and stood in for our team in the tourney. And for that we appreciate them. At least the old timers that were around then. SIU and UE were rivals from way back when they had Walt Frazier and won the NIT. We might butt heads now and then but they are a class school in my books.

WSU now 5-18 favorites in Sin City. The rest of us, the field, are 3-1. I still like WSU.

As Yogi Berra said "it ain't over till' its over". Another interesting tidbit ""Since the tournament expanded to all 10 teams (1997), the teams playing in the opening round have a 1-32 record after their first game."

When you get into one & done tournament play upsets are the norm rather than the exception it seems. I don't think any of the Valley teams (disregarding what the fans think) plan to mail it in this weekend. If the Shockers win it they will have to earn it PERIOD.

I doubt that Duke fans anticipated a loss to Wake Forest the other night or that Syracuse would lose 4 of their last 5 or Creighton losing their last 2 or Ohio State losing their last 2.

Tip it off and let the chips fall where they may.
