They need to use him more....Cut DJ's shots by 25% and get the ball to him more...a touch on every possession at a minimum.

That won't happen and DJ will shoot 35% of Evansville shots next season, again, and they will finish with 6-8 wins in conference, again, but talk about how great DJ is...again.

I disagree with you again, 1. DJ will take less shots next year with Villanova transfer added to the mix and the other guys getting more confidence to shoot, will probabaly see his shooting % go up his points and minutes down some,2. You would think with the way you go on about UNI players they would have had more then 10 wins which is how many UE had last year, UE had 6 wins this year with 4 other conf. games within a few points, UE has more talent than is has had in years, next year will determine if Marty keeps his job. Better worry about UNI today they have a tough game with SIU.

Over the past 9 games Mock has averaged 14.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks. If you take out the last two games of the regular season but keep last night, he's averaged 17 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks. Those are pretty impressive stat lines for a sophomore center in this league; let alone one that hasn't even been in the country for two years. Early in the year he couldn’t stay on the floor because of foul trouble. He’s learned how to defend much better, is staying on the floor longer and being rewarded on the offensive end. I'm not really sure what else you can ask from the kid at this stage in his career.

He has been real good as of late - I just worry that Marty's system won't let him be properly used over the course of a full season

Look at the stats. The reason his numbers have improved is because he's been able to stay on the floor by not getting in foul trouble nearly as much. Even Ben Jacobson would have a difficult time getting production out of a guy sitting on the bench after he's fouled out.

Over the last 9 games, Mock has averaged 3.1 fouls and 28.9 minutes while fouling out once (OT game against Illinois State) In all the previous games he averaged 23 minutes while fouling out 5 times. If Mock can continue to develop his defense and stay out of foul trouble over the course of a full season, his offense numbers will be just fine.

So let me see if I understand what you just said. You just said you have more talent then you have had in years, but you went from winning 10 conference games to 6? Sounds like Marty is doing things right down there in southern Indiana.

Yes, more talent but young talent, we have grown this year maybe not as fast as we would have liked. I base that on the schools we beat out to get our last 2 recruiting classes.

More talent...based...on...what?

UNI completely smashed Evansville twice this year and bring the whole team back.

Your logic seems...flawed.

Well I don't know how us losing to you twice this year actually detrmines how much talent we have but anyway I see you guys lost at SIU and at Loyola where we won this year, the bottom line is we can speculate if we want but the talent is better based on what other schools were recruiting our players that we have gotten over the last couple of years.

Does talent not usually win games?

Well using you logic it depends I guess you say Marty's system is flawed so is there a coaching isuue or a talent issue? I guess over the next couple of years we will find out, why is it the 2 teams we swept last year have issues with Marty's system also both of your coaches go on and on about Marty's coaching...bottom line I think the talent is better than it was 3 years ago but if we don't start winning next year I say it's time for a change. Good luck WSU!! see ya next year I hope
