Ain't getting them any other way.

Serious question. Does the league actually give out championship rings? If so, do they do this for the regular season and tournament?

I believe it is done by the schools, if they can afford it. I believe WSU has done rings for league championships, and did watches for the tournament championship last year, but that may have had as much to do with certain players running out of fingers than anything else.

Very true. WSU has made the MVC it's b!itch the last two seasons, but Tuttle was without a doubt the best player in the league this year.

I really have no problem with Tuttle as the PoY this year. I may not agree with it, but I don't have a problem with it.

I do believe there is quite a lot of room for doubt.

I don't believe there is room for doubt. He had the most outstanding season by any player in the league this year and the numbers support that.

The numbers are pretty close. Throw in not winning the league, and there is a lot of room for doubt.

But, like I said, I don't really have a problem with Tuttle winning it. I do have a problem with Balentine on first team. Would he start for either WSU or UNI? ISUr? Would he play for WSU or UNI? He doesn't exactly have a well-rounded game that includes playing quality defense.

Simmer down. Kyle was kinda douchey in his post and a bit over the top. I hope Seth didn't read any of Kyle's comments after the first Evansville game.

Well deserved and without a doubt the right choice for POY. The guy is a menace and extremely versatile. Congrats to UNI.

If UNI finished 3-4 games back, then not winning the title would matter a hell of a lot more. But when you are 16-2, and 27-3 overall its tough to hold that against the guy who put up the best season.

Exactly. Not winning the title only matters a little because it was close and the stats lean slightly towards Tuttle. From your perspective. Totally fine.

It is exactly the same to say the stats only matter a little because they are close and the conference race leans slightly away from Tuttle.

I'm not saying someone else should have won. I'm saying that anyone who thinks it wasn't close doesn't get the point of basketball.

Player of the year is an individual achievement. I don't really care where your team finishes. Just because you have the best player doesn't necessarily mean you need to have the best team. Tuttle won because he is the best individual player in all of the missouri valley period.

Every year the discussion over these awards here and elsewhere end up being dominated by who didn't get what over celebrating a whole bunch of people who obviously had great seasons. Congrats to those who won, and to those who were on great teams and didn't get individually recognized, best wishes for continued success in the postseason.

Sometimes I wonder if it would be best to discontinue these awards.
