99% sure they can win both. Little Mc seems like a guy who could be all-MVC for three years, but all four years seems like a stretch.

KLaw....is still a POY lock though.

Without a doubt.

The Valley keeps Individual stats in 13 categories. Lawson is #8 in rebounds at 6.3, 2nd in defensive rebounds at 5.1, and :-o :-o That's it? The future PoY is among the 15 top stats guys in 2 of 13 categories.

I'm certain he's going to get his game untracked any day now and show the Valley what he can really do. He's just off to a bit of a slow start.

I've seen a lot of freshmen start out really strong for 7 or 8 games before the opponents realize they have to guard them. Ben simons was putting up great numbers for Drake last season at the beginning of the year as a starter. Now he is riding the bench most of the game.

Illinois State's Jon Ekey has 15 blocks in 7 games including 3 against UNLV, all in the 1st half!

talk to the voters....I don't think too many CU fans would have put him up for that award preseason.

He seems to have fallen in love with the perimeter instead of working inside. We thought working against a legitimate big guy like Greg would help Kenny but so far it hasn't really seemed to make a difference. The past few years Kenny has only been able to practice against much smaller guys and hasn't had to really battle anyone comparable to him. I think that has a bit to do with his inconsistency b/c he isn't used to physical battles everyday. He has some offensive skill, but not the mentality of a POY type player.

Too bad, he seems like a good kid, just not a guy to carry a team.

Doug won his 4th straight MVC newcomer of the week award. "No other basketball player (men's or women's) in Valley history had ever been honored in four straight weeks with either the league's Player or Newcomer of the Week recognition."

Congratulations to Doug.

He's playing well and consistently. It's hard to argue against him.

I was thinking Jackie Stiles, the great SMS women's player, might have won four in a row. I guess not.

As impressive as this is, it worries me that this might be another sign that the MVC is down. If a guy can win four straight on a team losing games and there's no one else good enough to win the award, what does that say?

I hear what you are saying, but I tend to be a "half glass full" kind of guy, so I am going with he is just a really impressive/smart bball player that is only going to get better. I am sure teams are going to start taking him out of his game but if the talent around him can put it together and Daddy keeps building talent around him, I am pretty excited to see him in a Creighton uniform for the next 4 years.

I have no doubt that he's good, but I too wonder what this says about the youth in the league...
