That's actually a really good place for him to land.

I'm real happy for AJ. As a Shocker fan, he was a player I really feared. If Lusk had brought in decent talent around him, I believe he would have really flourished and drawn more attention from scouts.

I always saw in AJ the potential for taking over a game on his own. Guards were too small for him, and he was quicker than just about any player of size who was assigned to him in the MVC. Maybe needs a little work on his defense and fouling (shrugging shoulders)?

Congratulations to the young man, I actually thought he might go higher. As a late 2nd rounder I think he could be a steal.

Not an ounce of 'snarky' is contained in this post or intended from this poster.

Good post. I will disagree regarding talent though. I think we brought in sufficient talent. It was the coaching that was lacking IMO.

To me there was a total lack of understanding of how to utilize a talent like Alize. And how to develop offensive schemes that would make opposing teams pay for the double and triple teams that were constantly put on Alize.

Congratulations to Alize. I hope he can make it as a regular in the NBA. This was a great first step.

I don’t count AAC a mid-major.

Cincy isn't a mid major, neither is gonzaga. The AAC though? 10/12 mid majors....it's a mid major conference

Happy for Alize!!

Donte Ingram signed a summer league deal with the bulls. Worked out with 10 teams including a couple who worked him out more than once. I thought he’d be going to the knicks but awesome to see him stay close to home on a team that needs wing depth (or just a wing period...).

Any other MVC guys sign anywhere?

Congratulations to Ingram! Was hoping he would land somewhere. I will never forget him and will always be grateful for his shot against Miami and what it meant for the present and future of this conference. Good luck at the next level Donte! His landing in Chicago could pay off big for Loyola in terms of local recruiting.

No, the AAC as presently constructed is not a mid major conference. It has several teams that would be better off at that level and as such we can debate whether there's a Power 7 in basketball or not, but it isn't really a mid major. In its short existence it has failed to garner at least three bids just once (granted Tulsa's inclusion in the field over Valpo or Monmouth in 15-16 was an absolute travesty) and that is what flagship members UCONN and Memphis in down cycles. If those two programs get strong again and Wichita State avoids a dropoff it's a 4-6 bid league. No league that is usually a three bid league with the potential for 5-6 is a mid major league. You could argue that the AAC occupies a tier of its own business it is decidedly not a mid-major.
