Honestly, this was a toss-up for me between Drake and Evansville. Both schools will have a tough go of it this year.

I think Drake is being a little undervalued. They have a quality big man returning, a proven grad transfer pg, and the top rated juco coming into the Valley. Depthwise they probably can't maintain a level of play necessary to climb too high, but their top 4-6 are probably as good as a number of teams in the 5-7 range in this poll. JMO

Obviously I'm biased, but I would tend to agree with this. Nobody knows if Devries can coach his way out of a paper bag but he has assembled a team with a good amount of skill and experience. Nick Norton is a grad transfer point guard from UAB who had offers from Ohio State and Purdue. Tremell Murphy is athletic as hell and was offered by Oregon, San Diego State and Maryland. Senior Nick McGlynn is probably a top three center in the Valley. Those three are the highlights but Brady Ellingson who is a grad transfer from Iowa should be a solid shooter and sophomore Noah Thomas is a playmaker. Devries could suck, the players might not gel and they could lose every game in conference but if things go really well I could see them finishing as high as 5th.

Man. I forgot about the Mo State hype before last season. Amazing to see the 180 the program took. They are in good hands with Dana Ford.

They didn't take a 180 though. They finished 7-11 last season and the season before that.

The bigger question is why were they hyped so much prior to last season for a team coming off a 6th place tie with Bradley?

It was a year ago and my memory is crap about most things but with Alize's Sr. year, and I don't think they lost anyone significant that added to the hype in what was supposed to be a "down" year for the MVC.

No kidding. In Brian Wardle's first season I would not have been offended if someone stated Bradley had the worst basketball players on their roster among the 10 MVC teams. When coaches get fired for lack of winning the new guy often times has a rough go for a year or two. This isn't some radical concept.

That is only your ignorant opinion. I would have bet money that the Aces would not have finished last, but with it now being confirmed that DeAndre is indeed ineligible, the Aces are doomed to last place.
