Should be a fun race at the top of the Valley!

Who has the best 4 & 5 starters, Loyola or Illinois State?
Loyola:
SO-Lucas Williamson
SO-Aher Uguak

Illinois State:
SR-William Tinsley
JR-Zach Copeland

Who has the best 6 thru 9 bench?
Loyola:
JR-Jake Baughman
JR-Bruno Skokna
SO-Christian Negro
FR-Franklin Agunanne

Illinois State:
JR-Josh Jefferson
SO-Matt Chastain
SO-Taylor Bruninga
FR-Rey Idowu

Isn't Baughman the walk-on at LUC from Bloomington? Did he get a scholarship? Is he expected to play?

I like the Birds 4 better, mostly because I've seen them all play.

I am not a Loyola fan, so was only guessing as to who would be their top four off the bench. Maybe one of the Rambler fans can list who their top four off the bench will be.

Maybe it is because of last years numbers:
Fayne-----15.6 Points/game 7.4 Rebounds/game
Krutwig---10.5 Points/game 6.1 Rebounds/game
AND Fayne had better numbers head to head against Krutwig.

.my comment wasn't based on numbers but the love fest for krutwig. Im an isur fan I know Phil is better overall.

Don't the coaches vote on this?

Baughman is a walk on, highly doubtful he sees minutes.

LUC’s first 4 off the bench is most likely:

Bruno Skokna
Christian Negron

And then some combination of our 3 pretty highly ranked freshman:
Isaiah Bujdoso
Frank Agunanne
Cooper Kaifes

I believe that Coaches and beat writers vote on this poll. Maybe Athletic directors get a vote too.

I don't have any problem with anything on the poll. Fayne has better numbers than Krutwig, so that is why he is there. Loyola has enough coming back from a great "team" that it is hard to pick against them. ISU seems to have better individual players, but chemistry and team play probably gives Loyola the edge.

4 Votes per school (Head Coach, Beat Writer, SID, Radio PxP)= 39 (Loyola doesn't have a radio network)

Plus votes for Rich Zvosec, Kevin Lehman, David Kaplan and Adam Emmenecker (Primary MVC-TV Analysts)

43 Votes Total

Nobody mentioning my Salukis. As an Alum and fan, I'm in a tough spot. Want the team to do well, which for Saluki fans is advancing to the NCAA tournament. However, this would mean SIU retaining Hinson as coach. Most of us do not want that, as Byran Mullins is our top priority who BTW is being inducted into the Saluki Hall of Fame this weekend, along with Bruce Weber and others.
