What is Going On?

MVC currently ranked 23rd on RealTimeRPI.

Not surprised, but I do think that will improve as the season goes on. I have never been a fan of Real Time.

While the MVC is stinking it up, Belmont is currently ranked 2nd (RPI) and Murray State is ranked 5th (RPI) out of all the D1 schools.

RPI in November means jack s***.

Don't be shocked to see a ton of MEAC, SWAC, NEC, etc. schools rated highly too. It's how RPI works and it takes until Jan to start to sort itself out.

Man, what happened to wichita? They're ranked 131 ana I think they're last in the ACA. What's Marshall's buyout? I'm sure they can't afford it. Jans was the guy when they were good.

If they fire Dan like they should (but won't) Jans and Yaklich are my top two. Yaklich was only reason Dan ever finished with a great season. He's been pretty subpar otherwise until Yaklich put in a few years of work to teach defense.

Remember their fans mantra on here used to be "we don't rebuild we reload" . So much for that.

They probably will eventually be back due to Marshall and the financial resources they have BUT this is clearly a rebuilding year for them.

As I've said before they're experiencing the same shock to the system that Valpo is. The difference is they had an experienced team to help them compete in year one whereas we had a young team. It's harder when you have a young team stepping up significantly in weight class. They'll be fine and I'm sure we will too but the days of annual or near annual conference championships appear to be over for both programs.

Right I'm sure they will eventually be fine. I was just making the point that some of their arrogant fans were foolish enough to think they wouldn't ever have a down year.
