The bigger issue is the convenient fact they're not releasing the actual formulas.

This dude gets it.

Have you seen Loyola Marymount's schedule? 7-0 including double digit wins at UNLV and neutral vs. Georgetown?

I do think it's too early to get a very accurate gauge on things. Need more interconnectivity if we're going to assemble a web of 353 teams. But slotting teams beating other winning teams high is a good start.

Some systems like Kenpom I believe heavily rely on last year's finish until a certain point, and then cut ties. But that's not really telling us much either.

Did I ever say this or are you putting words into my mouth? ISUr is very disappointing so far this year. Undisciplined, poor defensively, selfish, etc.

You are the worst kind of message board poster. You just spew crap all the time on both this board and Redbirdfan and make them both hard to read. Please grow up.

I don't understand the general necessity for these rankings or any other additional rankings. I know sports are shifting to becoming all about numbers and analytics, but can't we just go back to the way things used to be?

The old excuse of, "Sorry, but your mid-major team didn't play enough games against quality competition, that's why you didn't get an at-large berth," has worked for years! Why not just go back to that?

These rankings won't help mid-majors get at-large berths any more than RPI or the quadrant system.

Win on Sunday in STL or expect to be sitting at home.

You can take that negative mindset and your will-less way of giving up and shove it. With all do respect.

We want a level playing field. We will get it. Schedule right. Win and the rest will fall in place. Especially in ooc and post season tourneys.

Keep calling out the big boys for exactly what they are. MVC is a top 5 conf. Leave and you will regret it.

Do you wanna be Wichita or Gonzaga?

Wichita is going to regret that move. The AAC is not long for life. WHEN they get raided and Houston, Memphis, Cincinnati, and UConn leaves they will have to raid Conference USA and maybe even the Sun Belt because the AAC will want the best football schools remaining. The basketball in the AAC will suck. But, the Wichita fans will try to get you to believe they will get a Big East invite LOL. I'm going to love to watch that program be in a worse situation than they were in the MVC. I wouldn't be surprised if they at some point ask to come back.

The rankings are a sorting tool. In the case of NET, it main purpose will be used by the NCAA to define quadrant wins and losses on the team sheets.

The issue isn't people don't understand what rankings do.
The issue is the metrics used in order to do this sorting.

The NET rewards a Jank-like schedule. That's not good for mid-level teams.
