And here we have VUGrad telling everyone “we are one move away from significantly altering the college sports landscape”.

Realignment is exciting, I get it. But you have to exercise common sense and keep things in perspective.

The only move that seems plausible is the Big 12 adding UCF and Cincy/Memphis/Houston. The remaining schools in the AAC know that but that is the hand they've been dealt. At least they have football in their back pocket whereas WSU could end up being a basketball only member in a league of unhappy misfits.

I would love to see WSU fall on their backside, but they won't be coming back to the MVC. They think they are big-time and spent plenty of time trashing the MVC while they were an active member. That absolute beating they took at Oklahoma was priceless.

A big bucket of cold water on this thread and most realignment. If anything, this would STRENGTHEN the AAC as their top team could potentially be good enough to qualify under this alignment and the Big XII would likely hold together under this making the AAC signing the GOR more likely. They might even consider expanding to take the top of the MWC.

Won't matter if CFP goes to 8, 16 or 32. Losing UCF to the Big 12 would not strengthen the AAC and won't stop UCF from leaving. That's undeniably the most likely domino to fall next. Once that happens, the others in the AAC will do anything they can to get out.

What's the point beyond recruiting access to Florida for the Big XII to add UCF and presumably USFas well? They'd almost have to add 2-4 more AAC teams to balance out the stink USF would leave on their basketball Kansas begs for the Bug 10 rather then play USF or UCF for that matter in conference. Ifthey get a guaranteed G5 spot in an 8 team playoff what's stopping the AAC from absorbing the top 4-6 in the MWC and locking up that bid for good effectively creating their desired P6?

You think the AAC is going to add schools from the Mountain West? Have fun with those Olympic sports travel budgets.

Yeah, no chance of that happening.

Don't understand the precept that that the AAC is about to implode. Currently the # 8 ranked BB conference--relative to the #10 MVC. Some decent teams in the AAC. Several good teams on the cusp of moving to a p6 conference. Big 12 should grab Houston this afternoon. Memphis, Cincy and BYU also Big 12 possibles. BYU and Cincy may be out of B12 foot print, but WVA is already in B12. If WVA why not Cincy?

I think some MVC dudes want to be hard over on the AAC because WSU dropped the MVC to join the AAC.

# 10 Realtime ranked MVC not looking good right now---if poor play continues should be happy come selection time that they are guaranteed one NCAA slot.
