Yeah, Wichita, Murray, SLU, and Dayton is about the dream scenario. Dayton will get into the Big East eventually (Catholic that's known for basketball). The AAC will be poached big time so it'll be interesting to see what happens to that conference. Once Dayton is gone and another team poached from the A-10 it will be interesting to see what happens there. The good thing about the MVC tight now is nobody is getting poached. I do think elgin is taking the wait and see approach hoping that the stars align.

I see that the MVC is ranked at #14. That's 4-6 ranking spots lower than they used to be.

Is this drop a measure of how much WSU and Creighton elevated the MVC. Is a 13 to 15 range going to become the normal MVC ranking.

I don't think adding Valpo, Murrray, Belmont, N. Kentucky, or????????? is going to lift our conference ranking---unless there are big changes in the projected 2021/2022 realignments.

I Can see the MVC fracturing with several teams very possibly migrating to other conferences and back filling with much lesser teams. UNI and MOState going west, NW, or SW; SIU, IndSU and EvansVille going south; Loyola to the BE; Ill state maybe to the MID America; Valpo back to the Horizon. Drake and Bradley--who knows.

You can forget WSU and Creighton coming back and saving the MVC!

Evansville going south?! I guess that would be the OVC.

But UE just changed the head coach, increased spending, added radio affiliates, increased season ticket sales, and re-energized the school/community. UE is not going anywhere.

Yeah, he's just way off on most of that. The league is pretty darn stable right now and that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as everybody continues increasing budgets as they are able.

As for UNI, yes we would go West. There is only one league that we would leave for (Mountain West) and they aren't coming with an offer any time soon. We're not going anywhere...

Mountain West would be a good move for MO State and UNI. Or, with right conditions MO State could possibly go SW. MT West needs to drop a couple of its lower teams. Could then move up several ranking numbers with UNI and/or MO State.

Conferences MVC members would leave for:

P6
AAC
Mountain West (although it's geographically stretching it)
A-10
Sun Belt/CUSA (if FBS football is the endgame)

That's it. Forget the Horizon, OVC, WAC, Summit. Their members want in here. Conferences that other programs want into don't dissolve.

I fail to see Loyola jumping to another conference... Loyola still is not a sports school and doesn't have or want the resources to commit to a big time athletics department.

The Valley is a perfect fit.

I don't see Loyola going anywhere either. But, they do have significant resources. I know it isn't the whole equation, but Loyola has a higher endowment than Xavier, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette, Dayton, Gonzaga, among many others. They just choose to use their resources in other ways.

I think there are only two schools that would realistically entertain leaving the MVC: Illinois State and Missouri State.

I could see Illinois State joining the MAC if FBS for football is their goal. I could also see Missouri State in the Sun Belt. The Sun Belt has FBS football and their baseball is better than the MVC's which is MSU's best sport. I really don't think anyone would go to the A-10 if they were invited. AAC and MWC are too focused on FBS football to ever consider any current MVC schools.

This makes sense. Every other school isn't leaving unless they get an offer (that isn't coming) from a top 6 conf. I don't see ISUR or MSU leaving either because those conferences are downgrades except in the areas you mentioned.
