Lol, no.

This board's continuous overvaluing of Murray State is bordering on comical at this point. Murray doesn't being anywhere near enough value to overcome the perfectly legitimate reasons not to bring them in.

CBS/Turner and the P6 have assured that we're a one bid league for the foreseeable future and we've had ZERO issues with getting multiple units every year. Why on Earth would we split the pie further AND make all other sports a pain in the ass scheduling wise with very, very little upside.

This.

I know its fun to talk expansion. I get it. But it doesn't make any sense for the Valley to add anyone at this point. Oh, and after this season Ja Morant won't be at Murray.

The problem is that this decision is being made by a room full of University presidents, half of whom are from non-football playing private schools who have seen exactly what's happened to similar institutions when they lose control to football playing public universities, excluding the Big East. That's without even discussing the financial side of things.

Murray's best chance is to wander up to Nashville and convince Belmont that it's the right move for them as well. That balances out the political side. That's the side that Murray has to win.

If I were King for a day, I'd add Murray and South Dakota State and add the strongest scheduling mandate ever seen. However, I'm not and in the real world 11 isn't happening and until there's a reasonable non-football playing preferably private University that's a viable 12th there isn't going to be any expansion beyond 10.

Agreed again. The Valley will ONLY take Murray if Belmont comes along. The private school presidents aren't letting Murray in without someone like Belmont.

After this season, Popeye Jones, Mick Cronin, Billy Kennedy, Steve Prohm, Isaiah Canaan, Cameron Payne, and Ja Morant won’t be at Murray.

If only they could replenish their cupboards as well as Bradley. :D

"on a good run?" look at the last 40 years of Murray State basketbal dating back to 79-80l.

To call that simply "a good run" is so dismissive it's insulting.

Would they have had higher ups and lower downs in the MVC? Absolutely but they were are and will remain a darn solid add.

You're right. But that will be the 4th guard (if you count Jonothan Stark who is currently in the D-League with the T-Wolves) to play significant minutes in the NBA in the past 8 years.

We are restocking also and will have one of the best back courts in the country again next year. Also we have a possible stud freshman big man this year that brought down 16 rebounds the other night.

I'll think we'll be fine after Ja.

Murray State doesn't rebuild it reloads. They're going to be fine.

You realize they Murray is in the OVC and the OVC has never received an at-large bid to the NCAA, right?

Thats not technically true. But the OVC hasn't had an at large since 1986-87.

And it hasn't been often that Murray has needed an at large bid.

No I got it. It was the exception that proved the rule.
